It was with great pride that I accepted the Award for Transforming Workplace Culture on behalf of the team at Atticus Health Jindivick. I would like to thank Gippsland PHN and especially our Liaison person Britt for their continued support of our clinic and the clinics in Gippsland.
Thanks must go to our Principal Doctor, Dr Floyd Gomes for his support, innovative ideas and mentorship to our Clinic and staff in our pursuit to be a community minded clinic and one Driven by Soul. The Clinic appreciates the fact that Floyd has faith in Team Jindi to be the clinic that we have evolved to be. Thanks also go to Clare Westlow for her nomination of our Clinic, her unwavering support as the Clinician Liaison and Quality Manager and in more recent times to Deb Rice who is the Operations Manager who supports both the nursing and reception staff.
Atticus Health Jindivick is not only a clinic of 5 doctors โ Sheetal, Rashmi, Fatemeh, Tharani and Hardik making us so multicultural in such a rural area, our nursing staff member Liz and reception staff Leonie and myself Toria as Lead Receptionist along with our podiatrist David, geriatrician Deeksha and soon to be physiotherapist who all gather to form a tight team whether it be at our quarterly dinners (Indian, Sri Lankan, Iranian, Italian and all in between), quarterly staff meetings with management, our Easter Egg Hunt with the local Primary School which results in over 300 eggs being hunted in the garden each year to which the parents and teachers also attend, birthday bonuses from Management, celebrating staff birthdays, baby showers and afternoon tea at the clinic for patients with cakes and slices. We also welcome Father Christmas from the Drouin West CFA who makes an appearance at Christmas time. Our Easter colouring competition is embraced by not only the students at Jindi Primary but adults as well.
We are also the Jindivick Postal Agency which was an initiative of Floydโs when the previous CPA wanted out and mail would have had to go to Drouin where there is no parking so we saw this as a way of giving back to the community that supports us in the clinic as well as the Community Library which evolved from patients and people collecting parcels who wanted to share books in a central place. In fact Floyd also started our Street Library which then grew to the community library and is going strong.
I believe that caring about your fellow staff members and treating everyone with the respect and concern you would like for yourself is what has moulded Team Jindi into the team they are and as such we and the community have benefitted from us being - โThe Country Practiceโ.

Atticus Health Jindivick is a General Practice Medical clinic located in the picturesque rolling hills of Gippsland. It consists of a small team of five doctors, two nurses and three medical receptionists.
