Construction of the "Atticus Submarine" as the home of Radio Western Port officially started today at Atticus Regional Medicentre, Hastings. And so we attempted our groundbreaking ceremony to mark the moment. The first groundbreakers were Deb (Atticus Operations Manager) and Floyd (Atticus CEO). Sadly, that didn't go to plan after a disagreement broke out creating an occupational hazard. Fortunately Dean, all star builder from DDC Property Services came in to actually start work on the Atticus Submarine.
A big thank you to the Mornington Peninsula Shire and Western Port Secondary College, including all the amazing students, for partnering with Atticus to create this unique space. What's it all about? Radio Western Port is a local internet radio station, giving a voice to whoever's got the drive to have a go. Check out the website for more stories and shows - www.radiowesternport.org. A big thank you to Brett Thiedeman (BT) Atticus Project Manager for keeping Radio Western Port on the rails!
The Atticus Submarine is our unique professional recording studio. As a medical clinic, we've talked so much about the importance of connection. It's time to take that next level with Radio Western Port.
Groundbreaking.
Stay tuned!
(Note - Groundbreaking ceremony was only for dramatic effect and to tick off Deb and Floyd's bucket list! Please don't try without the supervision of a registered builder.)

As we celebrated National Nutrition Week, we were reminded that food goes beyond nourishment—it fosters connection, care, and community.
Whether it’s through community gardens or family meals, food brings people together, telling stories that nourish both body and soul.
At Atticus Health, we see healthcare in the same way. Our focus is on building lasting relationships and keeping our community healthy, connected, and thriving.
A big thank you to @nutritionaustralia for being at the forefront of this initiative and making such a positive impact on communities across the country.
Let’s reflect on how food strengthens our well-being and the bonds within our communities.

Atticus Health's journey started with a vision of care, 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗹. Today, as we grow, our commitment to the community remains stronger than ever.
This National Carers Week, we recognize the selflessness and celebrate the resilience of 3 million Australians who provide care to a family member or friend.
𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄:
● Anyone can become a carer, at any time.
● The Carer Wellbeing Survey found carers who had good access to support had healthy levels of wellbeing compared to those who had no or limited access to help.
Below are some ideas by 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 on how you can help a carer today:
● Check-in regularly
● Offer a break
● Acknowledge and appreciate
● Initiate support
● Encourage self-care
Thank you carers for your endless dedication, you are all truly amazing and making a difference. 💙
