Pre-Employment Functional Assessments
A Pre-Employment functional assessment is a series of physical tests that helps match candidates to the physical requirements of the job and ensures you get the right people fulfilling the right roles, reducing the risk of onsite injuries.
Our Pre-Employment Functional Assessments are conducted by a physiotherapist and are specific to the physical requirements of the job being sought. They aim to determine if the candidate has a current injury, can the candidate perform the physical requirements of the role and do they have an increased risk of injury whilst doing so.
- They will typically include an initial screening questionnaire, a musculoskeletal screening, cardiovascular fitness testing, postural tolerance testing and manual handling.
- They help protect both employers and employees by ensuring staff are only working in roles they are physically capable of doing so safely.
- Candidates who successfully complete a well-designed Pre-Employment functional assessment have a significantly lower risk of workplace injury than those who don’t.
Ergonomic Assessments
Our experienced Physiotherapists can proactively ensure your staff have the best possible workstation setup to reduce the risk of injuries, or help an already injured staff member recover by improving their setup.
- Prolonged sitting and static postures are a significant cause of work-related injuries, a poor workstation setup can exacerbate this issue.
- Our staff will perform a thorough assessment of the existing workstation, make any necessary improvements in real time, and also provide an office-based exercise program.
- Our preference is to always optimise existing equipment and equipment recommendations can also be made as required.
- In this period of limited physical contact, online assessments are a safe, practical and cost-effective option.
Manual Handling training/ Injury Prevention training
Manual handling training can be used a part of an overall injury prevention strategy. Ensure your staff know how to identify risks and use correct manual handling techniques in the workplace.
- Our trainers are qualified Physiotherapists who will teach your staff how to safely complete hazardous workplace tasks which can be tailored specifically for your industry, as well as teaching your staff injury management techniques they can use for self-management of their own bodies.
- Training complies with the Manual Handling code of practice
- In this period of limited physical contact webinar services are a practical and cost-effective option.
